Chip City - West Village, Manhattan
For Chip's West Village location, we used curved architectural forms evocative of the Chip logo and a color palette of biscuit beiges and chocolate browns to create an aesthetic that feels warm, comforting and nurturing.
A curved bar and serving counter snakes fluidly through the main space, leading to a small seated area at the front of the shop with brown velvet bench cushions and Scandinavian inspired side stools. An amber cream terrazzo sits atop the bar and is repeated in a small ledge detail that bisects the last of a triptych of oversized bronze mirrors on the opposite wall. A series of sculptural arches open to a connecting corridor painted in a dramatic contrasting color and lit with round terrazzo sconces.
